Abstract

Dental implants have revolutionized the rehabilitation of edentulous patients, offering complex oral rehabilitations with high success rates. However, complications such as peri-implant mucositis and peri-implantitis can still occur, underscoring the need for comprehensive follow-up and data-driven care.

In response to this need, the Swedish Quality Registry for Dental Implants (SKRI) has been developed in close collaboration with national healthcare authorities and dental care guidelines. SKRI leverages advanced technology to automate data registration through QR codes on implant components, simplifying the documentation process in the dental record system. This enables clinicians to obtain accurate and relevant information, which can be exported to the established quality register SKaPa for comprehensive analysis.

Built upon one of the Swedish dental record system “Carita,” SKRI’s trial version was launched in 2022, with plans for full implementation in four regions by 2023. The vision is to expand this innovative technology to all journal systems, propelling Swedish dentistry into a new era of data-driven excellence.

Join to learn more about how SKRI is advancing dental implant care through the integration of science, technology, and data. Discover how this pioneering quality registry is empowering clinicians to optimize implant treatments and improve clinical outcomes and explore the possibilities of a data-driven future for dental care in Sweden.
